Being a better citizen is not an ability that you develop at the university. In fact, being  a good citizen could be overlooked by people who has graduated and has a master.

This is not something that has to do with neither having a lot of skill in a study field nor being smart. You just have to take some good habits and getting rid of the bad nature of human beings. It is time to also be more polite!

Avoid saying bad words: they do not make you look cool and most people could feel uncomfortable because of you using them. When you do not use them instead, you will be more remarkable because there are too many people out there who would use them indeed. Teach your kids as well.

Do not pollute: you probably have done this as everyone else. Just remember that you should start making the habit of not throwing anything out of the window of your car. Do not throw neither papers on the street nor bubble-gum packs. It may be a little difficult to make the habit at the beginning because it is a new thing, but with time you will reach doing this often. You rather put the paper in your pockets until you find a trash can somewhere.

Do not stop learning: you could learn through many ways rather than an institute. In case you never went to a university, today there is no excuse not to learn about anything new with the internet. You can as well read a book on a topic you like. The idea is that you get more information and more knowledge on your own as well.  Even watching YouTube videos about specific topics can make you learn new things that could make you a better citizen.
